Pre-Review of Human Rights Year Book Held

A pre-review of Human Rights Year book in Sarlahi and Sindhupalchok District under mid-region has been held with the review of human rights violation incidents with in the year.

According to the Sarlahi District Representative Santosh Kumar Shah, incidents on human rights violation with in the year have been made public in the review meeting held in Malangwa on December 13.

According to INSEC district representative Santosh Kumar Singh, in this period of one year six people were killed, one was misbehaved on charge of being witch and 17 incidents of rape was documented. Similarly, one incident of women trafficking was documented.

Speaking at the program, Chief District Officer Pradeep Raj Kandelpraised INSEC and said that the Human Rights year book has promoted the Human Rights. He added that the participation of everyone will only promote the human rights of the people.

DSP Sitaram Rijal of District Police Office said that in Srlahi, the incidents of Women violence is being increasing  and Act itself is being hurdle to deliver them justice.

In the program, Rakesh Tandukar of AFP, Ranju Regmi from Women and Children Office, chairperson Aman Koirala of FNJ had praised INSEC for its contribution in Human Rights sector.

Meanwhile, a pre-review of Human Rights Year book has been held in Sindhupalchok on December 10. According to our district representative Nati Babu Dhital, most of the speakers in the program stressed and recommended on Economic, Social and Cultural rights at present context.

The pre-review program was held in district headquarter Chautara.. Speaking at the program, DSP Shyam Adhikari of DPO said that rights activists must work hard as the impunity is prevailing in the present situation

Planning Officer Rajendra Prasad Nepal of District Development Committee said that everyone’s active participation is essential to minimize human rights violation.

Acting CDO hem Raj Phuyal said that the situation of Human Rights can be find out only by comparing the data with last year’s violation.

In the program district representative Dhital had made public on the incidents of human rights violation in 2016. Among them, there were four incidents of murder, six incidents on rape and sexual abuses, one incident on women trafficking, five polygamy, two incidents on allegation of witch, three incidents on beating and expulsion from house and one incident of explosion was documented.
