Interaction Held on Food Rights
An interaction program was held in Parbat on July 4 on food rights, organised by INSEC western regional office of Pokhara.
Speaking at the program, CDO Sambhu Prasad Marasini said that people cannot entertain sovereignty rights provided by the new constitution until people’s capacity on buying food is not developed. He stressed that it is necessary to extend the people’s purchasing power as well. He added that the government is committed to ensure the food rights of people.
In an interaction program, Basudev Regmi, senior agriculture officer at District Agriculture Development Office presented the working paper on food security and people’s access. The paper stated about the district’s food storage condition, quality, agricultural production and its distribution system.
