INSEC Provides Legal Assistance to Victim of Domestic Violence
INSEC provided financial support for a legal remedy to Rabina Khadka, 33, of Surkhet Birendranagar Municipality-3, on May 3, 2020. Rabina accused her husband Ram Bahadur Karki of repeatedly subjecting her to physical and mental abuse. She was not able to get access to legal remedies due to a financial crisis.
According to Narayan Subedi, Province Coordinator of INSEC, the victim appealed for financial assistance at INSEC. INSEC assisted the victim by providing five thousand rupees as per the victim’s application, with the intention of helping her with estimated expenses to initiate legal proceedings against her husband.
