The Informal Sector Service Center (INSEC) provided financial support to a 19-year-old rape victim with disabilities to help her through the legal process. The victim’s family, whose economic condition is very low, lives by working on someone else’s land. The victim’s mother works as a daily wage laborer, and the victim receives a disability allowance. The victim’s mother mentioned that the same allowance helps them in sustaining their daily lives.

INSEC District Representative and Assistant Constable Akash Magar of the Lumbini Police visited the victim’s home and provided Rs 10,000. INSEC has been supporting victims of gender-based and sexual violence for a long time, aiming to ensure they have access to justice.

A complaint was filed against 53-year-old Om Prakashlal Srivastav of Lumbini Cultural Municipality-1, Bhagwanpur on August 13 for allegedly raping the victim on July 12. Inspector Kanchan Tamang of the Area Police Office, Lumbini, stated that the accused is currently absconding and a search is underway.
