Half Yearly Review Program of Nepal Human Rights Year Book 2022

Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC) Bhojpur has organized Half Yearly Review of Nepal Human Rights Year Book 2022 on July 13, 2021. In the program, the incidences collected by INSEC Bhojpur in the last six months of 2021 was reviewed.

The stakeholders reviewed seven cases of rape, three of attempted rape, eight cases of beating, one case of polygamy, and 21 cases of domestic violence.

In the program, Binita Dhakal, Deputy Chairperson of Arun Rural Municipality said a common campaign is needed for the reduction of cases related to violence against women and children. She further added that as long as women and children are insecure in their own family and household, this will remain a challenge. She emphasized on implementing refined laws to stop reconciliation for the cases of sexual harassment and abuse that has increased lately due to social networking sites.

Deputy Chief District Officer Ram Prasad Luitel said INSEC has an important role in the human rights campaign in Nepal as INSEC publishes Nepal Human Rights Year Book by documenting the incidents of human rights violations and abuses through district representatives.
