Earthquake Victims said –“ We did not even see Technicians Face”
Most of the earthquake victims participated in a public hearing program said that they did not even saw the face of technicians. The public hearing program was organized by INSEC in Kalika High School at Sundrawati VDC ON November 14.
Local Tulasa Mainali said that she did not see the face of any technicians until seven months of their appointment. The technicians were deployed by the government for reconstruction of victim’s houses destroyed in earthquake. She said that she built the house on her own cost but it has not been passed yet.
Speaking at the program, Dhanawati Basnet complained that small children and elderly people are facing difficulties due to the zinc roof as in winter the zinc roof becomes very cold.
At the program, local Purna Bahadur Shiwakoti of Sunkhani VDC-6 said that his two houses were collapsed during the earthquake and his name was not included in beneficiary’s list. He further asked “When my name will be included in beneficiary’s list?”
The village chairperson Ram Prasad Mainali of Nepali Congress said that there are total of 36 victims whose name are missing from the beneficiary’s name list due to a technical reason. He added “who will listen to victim?”.
Social development officer of District Development Committee Dolakha said that the name will be included as soon as possible.
