Completion of meeting for problem identification and action plan creation at the rural municipality level
Mayandevi Rural Municipality level’s problem identification and annual action plan meeting were completed. The meeting was held under Informal Sector Service Center’s (INSEC) initiative program to ensure accountability from responsible bodies through local community awareness.
A team of Human rights groups and other concerned agencies through deliberation have formulated an annual action plan. In addition to that, they have identified the responsible agencies and problems related to education, health, environment, gender discrimination, and other rights.
Sundari Lonia, the secretary of the team, said the group unanimously decided to identify the stakeholders in association with the problems and to prepare an action plan regarding the solution to the identified problems.
In a similar manner, the team agreed to identify the following; the ratio of allocation of teachers and students in public schools is proportionate, the sufficiency of textbooks, and implementation of the Physically Handicapped Friendly Building Code of Conduct 2069. The team further decided to draw the attention of Mayandevi Rural Municipality to make a model of the Gender and Social Inclusion Policy 2079.
The team also planned to request related municipalities or wards to conduct campaigns and programs for health insurance, stray cattle management, public toilets construction, monitoring and problem identification of community schools, free distribution of sanitary pads in schools, and Domestic and gender violence reduction programs in coordination with related agencies.
The team in the meeting further decide to monitor the sufficiency of government-distributed medicines, monitor the birthing centers, and identify and solve problems regarding gender discrimination, child marriages, and other related problems.
