Prakash Human Rights Award to Purnimaya Lama
In memory of the tireless human rights warrior Prakash Kafle, INSEC has decided to award this year’s Prakash Human Rights Award to Purnimaya Lama of Namobuddha Municipality-9, Dapcha, Kavrepalanchok. Purnimaya, a victim of atrocities committed during the armed conflict between the government and the Maoists, is deeply aware of her rights. Selecting one name from the 58 candidates nominated for this year’s award was a challenging task. However, in light of the current delays in the transitional justice process, we believe that honoring her fervent pursuit of justice serves as an encouragement to all conflict victims seeking justice.
