Heartfelt Condolence
Untimely demise of Senior Health Expert Dr. Mathura Prasad Shrestha, a Guardian of Nepal’s Human Rights Campaign and a respected personality has saddened us. Dr. Shrestha had represented Bam Morcha, in an interim cabinet formed after the historical People’s Movement in 1990.
He had played an important role in making Nepal a party to International Conventions including Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. He visited several parts of the country leading Republic-Constituent Assembly Campaign in 2005/06 People’s Movement.
Dr. Shrestha will forever be alive in the Human Rights and Social Justice campaigns of Nepal. We extend our heartfelt condolence to the members of the bereaved family and may the deceased soul of Late Mathura Prasad Shrestha rest in peace.
