‘28th Prakash Human Rights Award’ to Social Campaigner Rajuram Bhul
The meeting of the INSEC Executive Committee held on July 21, 2022, has decided to felicitate Rajuram Bhul of Dasharathchand Municipality-4, who has been active in the campaign of creating a society free from exploitation and discrimination for more than two decades, with the “28th Prakash Human Rights Award”. A three-member award selection committee formed under the coordination of INSEC General Secretary Rudra Bahadur Charmakar recommended the Executive Committee to award Mr. Bhul.
On July 31, 1992, INSEC’s Founder Secretary-General Mr. Prakash Kafle had lost his life in a crash of Thai Airways at Ghoptebhir in Nuwakot. To mark the contributions of Late Kafle in the journey of Nepal’s human rights and social justice, the Prakash Memorial Award was initiated. Individuals who have made outstanding contributions in the field of human rights, politics, education, health, and social affairs of Nepal are rewarded on the Prakash Memorial Day. So far, twenty-seven individuals have been rewarded on this day.
On August 1, 2022, a ceremony will be held in Kathmandu to honour Mr. Bhul in Kathmandu. The Chief Guest of the ceremony will be Honorable Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission, Top Bahadur Magar.
The awardee will be presented with Rs 50,000 cash prize, certificate of honor, and INSEC’s emblem.
