Writ Filed at Supreme Court Demanding Inclusion of Former Child Soldiers in TRC Act
Lenin Bista, a former Maoist Child Soldier, filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court on September 9, stating that the Third Amendment Bill on Transitional Justice does not include former child soldiers and fails to provide them with justice.
According to the Supreme Administration, a writ has been filed in the Supreme Court demanding an amendment to include and address former child soldiers in the Commission on Investigation of Disappeared Persons, Truth and Reconciliation (TRC) 2024 Third Amendment Bill. Furthermore, Lenin Bista has informed that the hearing for the writ is scheduled for September 15.
