Violation of Code of Conduct by Teachers; Committee Asks for Clarification

The Election Code of Conduct Monitoring Officer Bir Samsher Gharti from Jajarkot informed that their committee asked seven teachers for clarification after they were found violating the election code of conduct via their social media handles.

After the District Code of Conduct Monitoring Committee found posts on Facebook by those teachers who were asking public to vote for direct and proportional candidates of their favoured parties in the upcoming elections on various dates; they were immediately asked for clarification within 24 hours and were instructed to remove the material posted on Facebook.

According to Acting District Election Officer Nabin Kathayat, those who posted such content on social media were Madan Rawal, teacher of Shree Janakalyan Basic School of Nalagad Municipality-4, Mahendra Bahadur Singh, teacher of Shree Birendra Aishwarya Secondary School of Barekot Rural Municipality, Man Bahadur Shahi, teacher of Dipendra Secondary School of Barekot  Rural Municipality-3, Minraj Singh teacher of Gorakh Basic School of Barekot  Rural Municipality-4, Dev Bahadur Shahi, of Malika Devi Basic School of Kushe Rural Municipality, Dalsingh Oli, of Mannedhunga Secondary School of Kushe Rural Municipality -2 and Setendra Bohora of Gyanendra Primary School of Nalagad Rural Municipality -4.

Acting District Election Officer Nabin Kathayat also said that all those who were asked for clarifications have submitted their clarifications and the submitted clarifications have also been sent to the Election Commission and the materials submitted on social media have been ordered to be removed.
