Victim’s Family of Tulu Re established in Village
The victim’s family of Tulu Sarki Thing of Yarsa VDC-9, who was killed on charge of being witch, has been re established in a village along with two children.
Bijaya Tiwari of Shakti Samuha said that three members of victim’s family were re established in the village with initiation from District Police Office and active organisation working in Rights field. Police said that victim’s wife Yomalmo Tamang, daughter Suprima Tamang and son Rajendra Tamang were re established in their own home.
A 56-years-old Tulu Sarki was beaten and smeared black soot over his face by his nephew Kancha Sherpa,27, along with others alleging him of being witch before setting fire and burying him in a ditch according to District Police Office.
The victim’s family were in police protection after the incident. Police inspector Shankar Shrestha of Kalika Police Post, Bijaya Tiwari of Shakti Samuha and Rabina Rimal of WOREC said that orientation against ill-practice such as allegation of witch and other social anomaly were operated in village before re establishing them.
