Victim of the Witchcraft Allegation Appealed for Justice
Hira Devi Silwal, 47, of Siddhilek Rural Municipality-2, has made an appeal through the district representative of INSEC to prosecute the accused including her daughters for beating her in the allegation of so called witchcraft.
Victim informed that, she saved her life by running away from her house after huband Bir Bahadur Silwal, 50, daughters Sita Silwal, 27 and Shrijana Silwal, 24, beat and injured her calling her a ‘witch’ on January 1.
The victim filed a complaint at the district police office on January 4 after she was compelled to stay outside the house for two nights in the cold. The victim had returned to her home following the treatment at district hospital on January 2.
Inspector of the district police office, Ramesh Thapa informed that the case is under investigation. Victim, currently residing at her maternal home has appealed for the justice with INSEC.
Teamtment of the victim was conducted at Dhading Hospital OCMC on January 8 in the support of INSEC.
Victim evicted from the home is currently residing at her maternal home.
