Victim Blames Police Of Not Filing Complaint
A 24-year-old married woman has blamed Area Police Office, Mujeliya and District Police Office for not filing a complaint against Roshan Kumar Mandal (30), son of the ward chairperson of Janakpurdham sub-metropolitan-13. The victim has accused Mandal of attempting to rape her on 26 June 2020.
According to the victim, accused visited her house when she was alone and tried raping her. She was also slapped after denying his gesture which led to nose bleeding. She was treated in a clinic since the nose bleeding was not major, informed the victim to INSEC’ representative.
According to the victim’s husband, the police had assured them of filing a case but due to political pressure, they tried to reconcile the case in Women Children and Senior Citizen Centre.
The ward chairperson was also accused of threatening the victim in a phone call.
According to ASI Dipika Ojha of District Police Office, the victim had visited for filing the complaint. Since the police are investigating the case, the complaint hasn’t been registered yet.
