Use of Tuin to Transport Food in Sarkegad
Nepal Food Management and Trade Company, Humla Limited Branch Office has been compelled to transport food from Tuin. Krishna Prasad Adhikari, Chief of the Food Management Trade Company Limited Humla Limited Branch Office, said that they had to be transported through Tuin as there was no bridge over the river Karnali River near Sarkegad Rural Municipality.
Mountain helicopters had been transporting the food from Sarkegad Rural Municipality’s Centre, Salisalla and Bagre to the branch office at the district headquarters in Simkot since April 5, 2022.
The Chief of the branch said that Tuin had to be used in the particular area because there was no other arrangement.
Food has been transported by constructing a bridge over Karnali river. According to the chief, the food grains transported by vehicles from Nepalgunj and Surkhet to Salisalla of Karnali Corridor are transported across the using Tuin.
The food is being transported from Tuin to a godown. For this, eight workers have been assigned to transport the food through Tuin.
The food is being stored in a warehouse near the helipad. Helicopters have been transporting food from the place.
According to the branch, more than 5,000 food items have to be transported using Tuin. The suppliers had to take the measure after the airline stopped transporting food to the branch’s warehouse.
