Update of September 8 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 773,529 after additional 1,347 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on September 8, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 733,161 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 94.7% along with 2,072 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 9,767 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on September 8, 14% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 19.4% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 10,889. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 10 people died on September 8. There are 29,479 people in home isolation. Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Chitwan, Makwanpur, Kavrepalanchok, Nuwakot, Nawalparasi East, Baglung, Kaski, Gorkha, Syangja, Dang, Rupandehi, and Surkhet have more than 500 active cases.

On September 8, 3,688 people were tested through the antigen process among which 293 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 86,006 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen process. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated into this number. According to the ministry, 5,056,803 people have been fully vaccinated till September 8.

According to Myagdi representative Amrit Prasad Poudel, the prohibitory order issued in the Mustang district has been extended till September 21. The District Administration Office, Mustang has issued a notice on September 8 stating that the prohibition order issued in the district has been extended from September 8 to September 21.
