Update of September 5 Regarding Corona Virus Infection

On September 5, an additional 1,041 cases were diagnosed with which there are now 44, 277 corona virus-infected people in Nepal. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 27,127 have been discharged after recovery. On September 5, 566 were discharged. Out of the total number of infected, 59.9% have recovered. At present, there are 17,870 people being treated in different hospitals nationwide. Till now, the death toll has reached 280. According to the Ministry, in the past 24 hours, 12,473 swabs were tested.

Provincial Reports

In Province 1,

According to the District Representative of Morang, Netra Prasad Adhikari, four more people have died in the district due to corona infection. According to the Ministry of Social Development, two women and two men died on September 5. The deceased has been identified as a 64-year-old woman of Biratnagar Metropolitan City-4, a 43-year-old woman of Biratnagar Metropolitan City-11, a 55-year-old man of Dhanpalathan Rural Municipality-3 and a 45-year-old man of Budhiganga Rural Municipality-5. A man of Dhanpalathan Municipality has died at Koshi Hospital COVID-19 on September 5.

According to the District Representative of Sunsari, Jaya Krishna Yadav, 97 policemen in the district have been confirmed infected with the coronavirus, according to the District Police Office, Sunsari. According to the District Police Office, Sunsari, the services of the District Police Office have been suspended except for serious complaints after the risk of Coronavirus infection was increasing and the police personnel on duty at the workplace were confirmed to be infected with the Coronavirus. A person in police custody and running a canteen has been diagnosed with the coronavirus.

In Gandaki Province,

According to the District Representative of Gorkha, Hari Ram Upreti, the Gorkha municipality has been sealed since September 5. Mayor of Gorkha Municipality Rajan Raj Pant said that the prohibition has been imposed in the municipality area for a week from September 6 considering the increased risk of corona. During the prohibition period, it has been said not to walk except for urgent work. The emergency service of Gorkha Hospital has been closed since September 5 after the death of a woman who was undergoing treatment at the hospital. The 75-year-old woman was admitted to Gorkha Hospital in an unconscious state.

According to the District Representative of Tanahu, Prakash Chandra Bhattarai, the service facility from the ward office has been shut down till September 8 as the corona infection in five more people in Devghat Rural Municipality-5 may increase the risk to the general public. Ward Chairman Yal Bahadur Gurung said that the service of the office of Ward No. 5 has been suspended to reduce the risk by publishing a notice on August 4.

In Province 5,

According to the District Representative of Rupandehi, Rima BC, a 40-year-old man from Butwal Sub-Metropolitan-11 died of coronavirus infection on September 5 while undergoing treatment at the Corona Special Temporary Hospital. Similarly, a 37-year-old woman of Pratappur Rural Municipality-2 of Nawalparasi died at Corona Special Hospital, Butwal on September 5. The men of Butwal and the women of Nawalparasi were admitted to the hospital on August 31.

Similarly, a meeting of the District Crisis Management Centre held in Rupandehi on September 5 has decided to change the modality of lockdown and make it flexible. As per the decision of the meeting, the District Administration Office, Rupendehi has issued a restraining order to open shops and businesses in the district from 11 am to 6 pm. Earlier, a restraining order was issued till 12 noon on September 6. Chief District Officer Mahadev Pantha issued the injunction order not to adopt health security standards
