Update of September 22 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 787,828 after additional 1,251 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on September 22, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 755,630 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 95.9% along with 1,630 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 11,067 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on September 22, 11% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 19.1% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 11,059. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, six people died on September 22. There are 21,139 people in home isolation. Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Makwanpur, Kaski, and Rupandehi, have more than 500 active cases.

On September 22, 2,863 people were tested through the antigen process among which 227 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 89,609 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen process. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated into this number. According to the ministry, 5,752,853 people have been fully vaccinated till September 22.

According to Myagdi representative Amrit Prasad Poudel, the prohibitory order has been extended in Mustang district. The District Administration Office, Mustang, has issued a notice on September 22 stating that the prohibitory order issued in the district has been extended from till October 6.
