Update of September 20 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 785,541 after additional 975 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on September 20, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 752,170 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 95.8% along with 2,957 latest recovered.
According to the Ministry, 10,786 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on September 20, 9% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 19.2% people diagnosed positive till now.
Till now, the death toll has reached 11,048. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, eight people died on September 20. There are 22,323 people in home isolation. Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Kavrepalanchok, Makwanpur, Kaski, and Rupandehi, have more than 500 active cases.
On September 20, 3,031 people were tested through the antigen process among which 120 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 89,088 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen process. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated into this number. According to the ministry, 5,588,517 people have been fully vaccinated till September 20.
According to Dhading representative Sitaram Adhikari, the oxygen plant provided to Dhading hospital by Bagmati province has been inaugurated on September 20, 2021. The plant was inaugurated by Bagmati Province’s Minister of Health Pradeep Kumar Katwal. Previously, the hospital was provided with fund for a hearse and for the restoration of the building. Speaking at the program chaired by Mahendra Dhamala, Chairperson of the Hospital Management Committee, Medical Superintendent of Dhading Hospital, Tribhuwan Chandra Jha, said the capacity of the plant is 55 cylinders per day therefore the patients will not be referred to other hospitals due to lack of oxygen.
