Update of September 2 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 765,914 after additional 1,619 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on September 2, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 721,182 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 94.2% along with 1,846 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 10,658 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on September 2, 15% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 19.5% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 10,786. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 16 people died on September 2. There are 33,946 people in home isolation. Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Chitwan, Makwanpur, Kavrepalanchok, Sindhupalchowk, Nuwakot, Nawalparasi East, Baglung, Kaski, Gorkha, Syangja, Tanahu, Dang, Rupandehi, and Surkhet have more than 500 active cases.

On September 2, 3,992 people were tested through the antigen process among which 385 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 84,294 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen process. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated into this number. According to the Ministry, 4,677,976 people have been fully vaccinated till September 2.

According to Gorkha representative Hariram Upreti, the prohibitory order issued in the district has been extended till September 18. Assistant Chief District Officer Kamal Raj Bhandari extended the prohibition on the recommendation of the meeting of the COVID Management Committee held on September 3a. Hark Rokka, officer of the District Administration Office, said that the prohibitory order has been extended based on the existing infection rate, and death rate. This time, during the period of prohibitory order, odd and even system issued on the vehicle has been removed.

According to Myagdi representative Amrit Prasad Poudel, the prohibitory order issued in Mustang has been extended till September 7. As per the decision of the meeting of the District Covid-19 Crisis Management Committee held on August 30, the District Administration Office of Mustang has issued a notice stating that the period of prohibitory order has been extended.

According to Kaski representative Sushan Ghimire, the prohibitory order issued in the district has been extended till September 16. Chief District Officer Thaneshwor Gautam has issued a notice on September 3 stating that the prohibitory order has been extended in the district from September 3 to September 16.
