Update of September 14 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 779,492 after additional 1,180 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on September 14, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 742,306 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 95.2% along with 1,589 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 10,266 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on September 14, 11% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 19.3% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 10,984. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 19 people died on September 14. There are 26,202 people in home isolation. Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Makwanpur, Kavrepalanchok, Nawalparasi East, Kaski, Rupandehi, and Surkhet have more than 500 active cases.

On September 14, 4,177 people were tested through the antigen process among which 382 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 87,413 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen process. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated into this number. According to the ministry, 5,243,236 people have been fully vaccinated till September 14.

According to Okhaldhunga representative Saraswati Baniya, Smart lockdown has been implemented since September 13, 2021. As per the decision of the Government of Nepal, all the previously closed sectors have been reopened and it has been emphasised to follow health protocol. Chief District Officer Bandana Rai said that the implementation of the smart lockdown has made it mandatory to follow the health standards. It has been mentioned that health services, regular office operations, small group meetings, seminars and workshops can be conducted by strictly following the standards of health protocols.
