Update of October 8 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 800,997 after additional 715 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on October 8, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 774,173 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 96.7% along with 1,033 latest recovered.
According to the Ministry, 9,466 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on October 8, eight were diagnosed positive and overall there were 18.7% people diagnosed positive till now.
Till now, the death toll has reached 11,210. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 10 people died on October 8. There are 15,615 people in home isolation. Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur and Rupandehi, have more than 500 active cases.
On October 8, 1,222 people were tested through the antigen process among which 49 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 92,839 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen process. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated into this number. According to the Ministry, 6,441,632 people have been fully vaccinated till October 8.
