Update of October 31 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people have reached 170,743 after additional 2,508 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on October 31, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 131,222 have been discharged after recovery. On October 31, the rate of recovery reached 76.9% along with the 2,264 latest discharged after treatment. The ministry reported that 38,584 people are being treated. Out of which, 31,800 are in home isolation, 296 are being treated in ICU and 69 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 937. According to the Ministry, 9,289 number of swabs tests were conducted in the past 24 hours.

Karnali Province

According to Jumla Representative Mandatta Rawal, the health post has been sealed after a health worker was found infected with COVID-19 in Tatopani rural municipality. A swab test was carried out at Karnali Health Sciences Academy Teaching Hospital, Jumla on October 29 and found a COVID infection in the health workers. According to Guruprasad Chaulagain, health coordinator of Tatopani rural municipality, the health post has been sealed for three days since October 29 after the health workers were found infected.
