Update of October 24 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people have reached 155,233 after additional 2,225 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on October 24, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 108,334 have been discharged after recovery. On October 24, the rate of recovery reached 69.8% along with the 2,846 latest discharged after treatment. The ministry reported that 46,057 people are being treated. Out of which, 32,873 are in home isolation, 307 are being treated in ICU and 70 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 842. According to the Ministry, 13,846 number of swabs tests were conducted in the past 24 hours.
Karnali Province
According to Rukum (West) Representative Manisha KC, after the number of COVID-19 infection increased the District Administration Office, Rukum West has issued a prohibitory order in four wards of Banfikot Rural Municipality from 6 pm on October 23 until further notice. The District Administration Office has issued a prohibitory order by sealing wards 4, 6, 7 and 8 of the rural municipality after the last test showed that three persons of Banfikot were infected with COVID-19.
According to Chief District Officer Badrinath Gaire, travel restriction has imposed on these wards except for emergency vehicles and services.
Meanwhile, Triveni Rural Municipality has issued a notice regarding, the ward no. 7 has been sealed from October 21 to 28, keeping in view the rapid growth rate of COVID-19 infection. A 53-year-old woman of Triveni Rural Municipality-7 had died in Home Isolation on October 21 due to COVID-19 infection.
