Update of October 24 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 809,055 after additional 522 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on October 24, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 787,507 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 97.3% along with 877 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 6,061 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on October 24, 9% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 18.5% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 11,348. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, three people died on October 24. There are 10,201 people in home isolation. Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have more than 500 active cases.

On October 24, 1,564 people were tested through the antigen process among which 35 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 94,015 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen process. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated into this number. According to the Ministry, 6,604,173 people have been fully vaccinated till October 24.

According to Dhading representative Sitaram Adhikari, the meeting of the COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre has extended the prohibition order till November 8. The meeting held on October 24 made the decision to extended the order. The prohibition order states that the health standards issued by the Government of Nepal must be strictly adhered to. The order issued by Chief District Officer Krishna Prasad Lamsal states to celebrate festivals including Tihar in your home, do not hold fairs, festivals, concerts, and to have only regular worship at temples and shrines. Hotels and businesses should be open only from 6 am to 8 pm.
