Update of October 23 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 808,534 after additional 438 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on October 23, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 786,630 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 97.3% along with 817 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 4,972 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on October 23, 9% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 18.5% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 11,345. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, eight people died on October 23. There are 10,559 people in home isolation. Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur and Kaski, have more than 500 active cases.

On October 23, 1,959 people were tested through the antigen process among which 75 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 93,980 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen process. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated into this number. According to the Ministry, 6,598,530 people have been fully vaccinated till October 23.

According to Myagdi representative, Amrit Prasad Poudel, the prohibitory order issued in Mustang has been extended till November 16, 2021. The District Administration Office, Mustang, has issued a notice on October 22 stating that the prohibitory order has been extended till November 16.
