Update of October 18 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 805,560 after additional 523 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on October 18, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 782,393 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 97.1% along with 937 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 7,654 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on October 18, seven percent were diagnosed positive and overall there were 18.6% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 11,293. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, nine people died on October 18. There are 11,874 people in home isolation. Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur and Kaski, have more than 500 active cases.

On October 18, 2,043 people were tested through the antigen process among which 68 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 93,430 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen process. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated into this number. According to the Ministry, 6,470,195 people have been fully vaccinated till October 18.
