Update of October 17 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people have reached 129,304 after additional 3,167 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on October 17, 2020. Out of the recently diagnosed cases, 1,160 are females. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 89,840 have been discharged after recovery. On October 17, the rate of recovery reached 69.5% along with the 2,326 latest discharged after treatment. The ministry reported that 38,304 people are being treated. Out of which, 25,438 are in home isolation, 290 are being treated in ICU and 66 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 727. According to the Ministry, 15,438 number of swabs tests were conducted in the past 24 hours.

According to Rautahat Representative Kopila Timalsina, the district administration office Rautahat has issued a notice to take precautionary measures on the occasion of the festival. Chief District Officer Indradev Yadav said that during the spread of Covid-19 infection, gathering around has been banned in the district with various conditions as there is a risk of transmission infection due to the increasing gathering.
