Update of October 17 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 805,037 after additional 385 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on October 17, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 781,456 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 97.07% along with 680 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 6,966 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on October 17, six percent were diagnosed positive and overall there were 18.7% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 11,284. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, six people died on October 16. There are 12,297 people in home isolation. Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur and Kaski, have more than 500 active cases.

On October 16, 1,111 people were tested through the antigen process among which six were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 93,362 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen process. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated into this number. According to the Ministry, 6,469,159 people have been fully vaccinated till October 14 and nobody was vaccinated on October 15, 16 and 17.
