Update of October 16 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 804,652 after additional 136 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on October 16, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 780,776 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 97.03% along with 845 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 1,446 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on October 16, 11% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 18.7% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 11,278. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, one person died on October 16. There are 12,598 people in home isolation. Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur and Kaski, have more than 500 active cases.

On October 16, 327 people were tested through the antigen process among which 11 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 93,356 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen process. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated into this number. According to the Ministry, 6,469,159 people have been fully vaccinated till October 14 and nobody was vaccinated on October 15 and 16.
