Update of November 9 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 815,372 after additional 443 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on November 9, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 796,306 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 97.7% along with 484 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 14,918 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on November 9, 3% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 18.2% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 11,454. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, one person died on November 9. There are 7,612 people in home isolation. Kathmandu and Lalitpur have more than 500 active cases.

On November 9, 1,818 people were tested through the antigen process among which 90 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 94,926 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen process. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated into this number. According to the Ministry, 7,468,914 people have been fully vaccinated till November 9.

According to Dhading representative Sitaram Adhikari, the prohibitory order issued in Dhading has been extended till November 23, 2021. A meeting of the Covid-19 Crisis Management Centre held on November 9 decided to extend the order issued. It is mentioned in the prohibitory order to strictly follow the health protocols issued by the Government of Nepal. The prohibitory order was initiated in Dhading from May 4, 2021, after the spread of COVID-19 increased across the country.
