Update of November 30 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 233,452 after additional 1,474 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on November 30, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 214,521 have recovered. On November 30, the rate of recovery reached 91.6% along with the 1,931 latest recovered. The ministry reported that 17,423 people are being treated. Out of which, 11,814 are in home isolation, 375 are being treated in ICU, and 58 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 1,508. According to the Ministry, 9,911 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. There aren’t any active cases in Manang and Dolpa while Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, and Kaski, have more than 500 active cases.

In Sudur Paschim Province

According to Darchula representative Narendra Singh Karki, prohibition has been issued in the Apihimal Rural Municipality-5 after two foreign nationals working at Makarigad Hydropower were diagnosed COVID-19 positive. Two Sri Lankan nationals working at Makrigad Hydropower were diagnosed positive, informed Khagendra Karki, Information Officer at the Health Office, Darchula. The District Administration Office, Darchula, has issued a restraining order on November 30 after the Apihimal villagers requested to issue a restraining order in the ward. Chief District Officer Sharad Kumar Pokharel said that a ban has been issued until the report is received after collecting swabs of hydropower workers and businessmen in the area to prevent the spread of covid at the community level.
