Update of November 20 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 216,965 after additional 1,954 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on November 20, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 191,002 have recovered. On November 20, the rate of recovery reached 88% along with the 5,364 latest discharged after treatment. The ministry reported that 24,665 people are being treated. Out of which, 19,014 are in home isolation, 403 are being treated in ICU, and 63 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 1,298. According to the Ministry, 10,340 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours.

Sudur Paschim Province

According to Darchula representative Narendra Singh Karki, the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Darchula distribution centre has been closed indefinitely after the death of a COVID-19 infected employee. After the death of Padam Badal, a 30-year-old employee of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), the NEA has been shut down from November 18. An electrician died on the way to Dhangadhi for treatment after he was found to have respiratory problems.
