Update of November 18 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 212,917 after additional 1,442 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on November 18, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 182,780 have been discharged after recovery. On November 18, the rate of recovery reached 85.8% along with the 3,538 latest discharged after treatment. The ministry reported that 28,878 people are being treated. Out of which, 26,421 are in home isolation, 326 are being treated in ICU, and 38 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 1,259. According to the Ministry, 6,731 swabs tests were conducted in the past 24 hours.

According to Bhojpur representative Ganesh Bista, the Shadananda Municipality-8 ward has been sealed for a week after a 24-year-old girl from Tungechha died on November 17 due to infection with COVID-19. The girl’s report was positive when she underwent COVID-19 test at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan on November 4. Mayor of Shadananda Municipality Birwal Rai said that the ward was sealed for one week due to the death of a young woman living in home isolation after she was found positive.
