Update of March 5 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 977,447 after additional 67 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on March 5, 2022. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 958,555 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 98.1% along with 362 latest recovered. There are 6,947 active infected cases at present.

According to the Ministry, 2,662 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on March 5, 3% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 18% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 11,945. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, two died on March 5. Kathmandu and Lalitpur have more than 500 active cases.

On March 5, 3,558 people were tested through the antigen process among which 24 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 139,531 people have been diagnosed positive with the antigen method. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated in this data. Till March 6, 17,843,980 people have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
