Update of March 13 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 977,937 after additional 59 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on March 13, 2022. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 961,070 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 98.3% along with 192 latest recovered. There are 4,917 active infected cases at present.

According to the Ministry, 6,306 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on March 13, 1% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 17.9% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 11,950. On March 13, 1,641 people were tested through the antigen process among which six were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 139,942 people have been diagnosed positive with the antigen method. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated in this data. Till March 13, 18,452,467 people have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. 

According to Gorkha representative Hariram Upreti, 98.17 percent people in the district have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. According to the District Health Office, Gorkha, out of an estimated population of 159,238 above the age of 18, 156,330 have been fully vaccinated. Similarly, 86.3 percent of the age group of 12 to 17 years have been vaccinated against COVID-19. There is an estimated population of 26,661 in the age group of 12-17 years. The work of vaccinating those who missed the vaccination is ongoing in the municipality. The nearest health facility or the health unit of the villages have given continuity to the vaccination campaign.
