Update of June 19 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 619,635 after additional 1,688 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on June 19, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 553,342 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 89.3% along with the 3,660 latest recovered.
According to the Ministry, 7,010 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on June 19, 24% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 19% people diagnosed positive till now. On June 19, 187 people below the age of 19 were diagnosed positive for COVID-19.
Till now, the death toll has reached 8,675. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 34 people died on June 19. There are 57,618 in isolation. There are more than 500 active cases in Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Rautahat, Dhanusha, Parsa, Mahottari, Bara, Saptari, Siraha, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Chitwan, Kavrepalanchowk, Makwanpur, Dhading, Nuwakot, Sindhupalchowk, Sindhuli, Ramechhap, Kaski, Nawalparasi East, Gorkha, Tanahu, Syangja, Myagdi, Dang, Rupandehi, Banke, Palpa, Bardiya, Kapilbastu, Arghakhanchi, Nawalparasi West, Surkhet, Salyan, Dailekh, Dadeldhura, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Baitadi, Doti and Achham.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 75 districts have been following complete or partial prohibition till June 19, 2021.
According to Chitwan Representative Dipendra Adhikari, the out-patients department of Bharatpur Hospital will be resuming its service from June 20, 2021. The service had stopped immediately after the implementation of the prohibitory order for the treatment of the COVID patients. According to the Chief Medical Superintendent of the hospital Roshan Neupane, the present status of COVID-19 had declined in the district therefore, the service will be resumed from June 20. Previously, the hospital served an average of 1,200 patients in a day from the out-patients department.
