Update of July 31 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 695,389 after additional 2,280 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on July 31, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 654,177 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 94.1% along with the 1,916 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 9,263 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on July 31, 25% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 19.3% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 9,857. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 23 people died on July 31. There are 31,355 in isolation. Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Chitwan, Makwanpur, Nawalparasi East, Kaski, Rupandehi, and Surkhet have more than 500 active cases.

According to Baitadi representative Nari Badu, the prohibitory order issued in the district has been extended till mid-August (August 16) as there is still a risk of COVID-19 infection in the district, said Acting Chief District Officer Khagendra Bharti. Acting Chief District Officer Bharti said that the prohibitory order has been extended for the seventh time. According to the District Administration Office, the shops can be opened from 6 am to 7 pm and a maximum of 25 people can participate in weddings, processions, and religious programs.
