Update of July 29 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 690,642 after additional 2,335 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on July 29, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 650,445 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 94.1% along with the 1,373 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 9,555 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on July 29, 24% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 19.3% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 9,807. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 16 people died on July 29. There are 30,390 in isolation. Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Chitwan, Makwanpur, Nawalparasi East, Kaski, Rupandehi, and Surkhet have more than 500 active cases.

According to Okhaldhunga representative Saraswati Baniya, the prohibitory order issued in the district has been extended till August 13. According to Chief District Officer Bandana Rai, a meeting of the District COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre on July 29 decided to extend the prohibitory order.

According to Dhading representative Sitaram Adhikari, the prohibitory has been extended till August 4. Assistant Chief District Officer Gokarna Prasad Upadhyaya said that the prohibitory order issued by the District Covid-19 Management Committee has been extended till August 4. It is mentioned in the prohibition order that all kinds of business establishments and shops in the district can operate from 6 am to 6 pm by adopting health safety standards.

According to Makwanpur representative Pushparaj Adhikari, the prohibitory has been extended for 10 more days. The prohibitory order issued by the District Covid-19 Management Committee has been extended till August 8. It is mentioned in the prohibition order that all kinds of business establishments and shops in the district can operate from 6 am to 6 pm by adopting health safety standards.

According to Myagdi representative Amrit Prasad Poudel, the prohibitory order issued in Mustang has been extended till August 16. The District COVID Prevention and Management Centre, Mustang, issued a notice on July 29 stating that the prohibition order issued in the district has been extended till August 16.
