Update of July 26 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 682,947 after additional 2,391 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on July 26, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 645,301 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 94.5% along with the 1,686 latest recovered.
According to the Ministry, 12,240 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on July 26, 20% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 19.2% people diagnosed positive till now.
Till now, the death toll has reached 9,738. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 25 people died on July 26. There are 27,908 in isolation. Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Chitwan, Makwanpur, Nawalparasi East, Kaski, and Rupandehi have more than 500 active cases.
According to Sunsari representative, Jayakrishna Yadav, the prohibitory order has been extended in the district till August 3. The order was increased due to the rapid increase in the cases of COVID-19 in the district. During the period of the prohibitory order, the shops supplying food grains will operate till 9am in the morning. The District Administration Office has requested to follow the public health protocols issued by the government of Nepal. Due to the increase in the infection rate of COVID -19, the Dharan Sub-Metropolitan has instructed that vegetable market should operate till 9 am and other shops should operate only from 10 am to 5 pm. The Itahari Sub-Metropolitan has suspended the services of the metropolitan office and ward offices from July 26 to August 2 after the infection of COVID -19 was diagnosed in their staff. Administrative Officer Surya Prasad Subedi said that the internal work and available services have been stopped after the infection of COVID -19 was confirmed in the employees. A vaccination campaign against COVID -19 has been started in 12 local levels in the district from July 26. According to the District Administration Office, the locals will be vaccinated by Verocell on July 26, 27 and 28 and on July 29, 30 and 31 they will be vaccinated with Verocell.
According to Jhapa representative, Naresh Khati, the Birtamod municipality has been sealed till August 3, 2021, due to an increase in the cases of COVID-19. All the least necessary services will be suspended during this period.
According to Dolakha representative, Udhhav Pokhrel, the prohibitory order has been extended in the district until further notice. The decision was taken after the meeting held by the District COVID Crisis Management Centre.
According to Nuwakot representative, Nawadeep Shrestha, the prohibitory order has been extended in the district for 10 more days due to the rapid increase in the cases of COVID-19. The prohibitory order has been extended till August 4.
According to Kailali representative, Mainamoti Chaudhary, the prohibitory order has been extended in the district for 10 more days due to the rapid increase in the cases of COVID-19. The prohibitory order has been extended till August 5. The government has instructed the educational institutions to conduct the pre-determined written and practical examinations in shift by keeping only 25 students in one room and to sanitizing the examination hall.
