Update of July 22 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 674,726 after additional 1,855 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on July 22, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 637,690 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 94.5% along with the 1,288 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 9,122 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on July 22, 20% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 19.3% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 9,661. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 24 people died on July 22. There are 27,375 in isolation. Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Chitwan, Nawalparasi East Kaski, Rupandehi, and Kailali has more than 500 active cases.

According to Chitwan representative Dipendra Adhikari, a prohibitory order has been issued in the district till July 29. Chief District Officer Premlal Lamichhane said that the District Administration Office has issued a notice on July 22 and extended the prohibitory order for one more week. The administration has also urged to take precaution as the number of covid cases are increasing in the district.
