Update of July 20 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 670,935 after additional 2,202 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on July 20, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 634,927 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 94.6% along with the 1,595 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 8,836 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on July 20, 25% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 19.2% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 9,607. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 25 people died on July 20. There are 26,419 in isolation. Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Chitwan, Kaski, Nawalaparasi East, Rupandehi, Surkhet and Kailali has more than 500 active cases

According to Baglung representative Srijana Panta, the District Administration Office Baglung has eased the prohibitory order and extended it till July 29. Chief District Officer Shiva Kumar Karki informed that the prohibitory order has been extended till July 29 after the decision of the meeting of the District COVID-19 Management Centre held at the District Administration Office, Baglung.

According to Tirtha Raj Dumre, former representative of Nawalparasi East, the prohibitory order has been extended till August 5, 2021. The District Administration Office, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East) has issued a notice on July 20 stating that the prohibitory order issued in the district has been eased.
