Update of July 2 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 642,053 after additional 1,391 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on July 2, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 603,600 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 94% along with the 3,451 latest recovered.
According to the Ministry, 6,566 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on July 2, 21% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 19.1% people diagnosed positive till now. On July 2, 158 people below the age of 20 were diagnosed positive for COVID-19.
Till now, the death toll has reached 9,179. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 34 people died on July 2. There are 29,308 in isolation and a total of 757,635 people have received both doses of vaccination.
According to Dhankuta representative, Ishwar Thapa, the prohibitory order has been extended till July 9, 2021. A meeting of the District COVID Crisis Management Centre held on July 2 has decided to ease the prohibitory order, informed Chief District Officer Krishna Raj Panta. The grocery shops, meat shops, fruits and vegetable shops will be allowed to operate from 6 am to 6 pm following the health protocols. Book stores and agricultural product shops will be allowed to operate from 7 am to 4 pm.
According to Gorkha representative Hariram Uprety, the prohibitory order has been extended for the upcoming 10 days. A meeting of the District COVID Crisis Management Centre held on July 2 has decided to extend the prohibitory order till July 13, 2021.
