Update of July 14 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 660,788 after additional 2,010 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on July 14, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 624,711 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 94.5% along with the 1,606 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 8,108 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on July 14, 25% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 19.2% people diagnosed positive till now. On July 14, 264 people below the age of 20 were diagnosed positive for COVID-19.

Till now, the death toll has reached 9,430. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 18 people died on July 14. There are 26,822 in isolation. Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Chitwan, Makwanpur and Kaski has more than 500 active cases.

According to Tanahu representative, Prakash Chandra Bhattarai,

The prohibitory order issued in the district has been extended till July 25, 2021. Chief District Officer Sagar Acharya issued a notice on July 14 and extended the prohibitory order. Earlier, a meeting of the District Covid 19 Management Centre held on July 13 had decided to recommend the Chief District Officer to extend the prohibitory order till July 25.

Assistant Chief District Officer Chitrang Baral said that the prohibitory order should be continued as the risk of covid is still very high in Tanahu and the number of active cases is also high.
