Update of July 1 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 640,662 after additional 1,857 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on July 1, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 600,149 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 93.7% along with the 4,017 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 7,130 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on July 1, 26% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 19.1% people diagnosed positive till now. On July 1, 195 people below the age of 20 were diagnosed positive for COVID-19.

Till now, the death toll has reached 9,145. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 33 people died on July 1. There are 31,368 in isolation.

In Province 1,

According to Bhojpur representative, the prohibitory order has been extended till July 15, 2021. The meeting of the COVID Crisis Management Centre held on June 31 decided to extend the prohibition, informed Chief District Officer Krishna Prasad Bhandari. During the prohibition period, grocery shops will be operating till 10 am.

According to Sankhuwasabha representative, Bhawin Karki, the prohibitory order has been extended in the district till July 10, 2021. The meeting of the District COVID Crisis Management Centre held on June 31 decided to extend the prohibition, informed Chief District Officer Tek Narayan Paudel.

In Bagmati Province,

According to Chitwan representative, Deependra Adhikari, the prohibitory order has been extended for one week. The extended prohibition has eased the operation of three-wheeled Autos and Taxi services. They have been instructed to operate with maximum of two passengers, following the odd and even rule, informed Chief District Officer, Prem Lal Lamichhane.

In Karnali Province,

According to Surkhet representative, Durga Thapa, the meeting held under the chairpersonship of Chief District Officer Chhabi Lal Regmi has extended the prohibitory order till July 8, 2021. During this period, the opening of grocery shops, construction materials shops, utensils, bookstores, workshops, hardware, fancy shops will be from 6 am to 2 pm.
