Update of January 9 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 264,521 after additional 362 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on January 9, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 257,928 of the total infected have recovered. On January 9, the rate of recovery reached 97.5% along with the 699 latest recovered. The ministry reported that 4,681 people are being treated. Out of which 1,389 are in home isolation, 186 are being treated in ICU, and 38 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 1,912. According to the Ministry, 4,286 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. There aren’t any active cases in Solukhumbu, and Mugu, while Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases.
