Update of January 7 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 263,605 after additional 412 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on January 7, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 256,646 of the total infected have recovered. On January 7, the rate of recovery reached 97.4% along with the 483 latest recovered. The ministry reported that 5,058 people are being treated. Out of which 1,561 are in home isolation, 184 are being treated in ICU, and 32 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 1,903. According to the Ministry, 5,132 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. There aren’t any active cases in Solukhumbu, Dolpa and Mugu, while Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases.
