Update of January 6 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 830,480 after additional 478 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on January 6, 2022. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 813,447 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 97.9% along with 271 latest recovered.
According to the Ministry, 7,209 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on January 6, 7% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 16.9% people diagnosed positive till now.
Till now, the death toll has reached 11,602. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, one died on January 6. There are 5,431 people in home isolation. Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur have more than 500 active cases.
On January 6, 4,890 people were tested through the antigen process among which 62 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 96,445 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen process. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated into this number. According to the Ministry, 10,904,851 people have been fully vaccinated till January 6.
