Update of January 5 Regarding COVID-19 Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 830,002 after additional 370 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on January 5, 2022. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 813,176 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 98% along with 239 latest recovered.
According to the Ministry, 6,715 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on January 5, 6% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 17% people diagnosed positive till now.
Till now, the death toll has reached 11,601. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, there have been no deaths on January 5. There are 5,225 people in home isolation. Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur have more than 500 active cases.
On January 5, 3,552 people were tested through the antigen process among which 65 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 96,383 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen process. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated into this number. According to the Ministry, 10,804,413 people have been fully vaccinated till January 5.
